BCCS recently honored employees marking 10 to 40 years of service with a brunch and evening reception, recognizing decades of service to children with delays and developmental disabilities.
“Thank you for your unwavering loyalty and your tireless pursuit of our mission,” said Stanfort J. Perry, CEO. “Your dedication is not just inspiring; your dedication is legendary. We’re grateful for each day, each year, and every contribution you have made.”
Among those recognized was Debra Doyle, Senior Director of BCCS, who celebrated 35 years of service. Reflecting on her career, Debra shared that what’s kept her engaged has been the students and the evolving ways schools have kept pace with their changing needs.
“I love my job. I love what I do,” Debra said. “I love working with the families and children and watching the potential growth and the connections that we make, and the difference that we make in the lives of our families.”
Also honored was Deborah Lapidus, Speech Pathologist at the Children’s Residential Program (CRP), celebrating 15 years with BCCS and 30 years with the family of organizations. Deborah attributes her continued passion to her work with the young people she supports. Despite many changes, her commitment has remained strong.
“We have iPads, which we didn’t have when I first started in 2009,” Deborah said. “They came up with communication apps on the iPads for people who were non-speaking, which was major. I’ve been in the field forever. The kids I used to work with wore a board with all the pictures on it, so let me show you, ‘I want an apple, I want a pear.’ It’s like night and day.”
By providing leadership, guidance, education, and therapy, our staff make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Heather Fisco, a teacher at Barbara C. Wilson Preschool (BCW), and Elham Raminfard, a teacher’s assistant at BCW, celebrated 10 years of dedicated service to students and colleagues. Both highlighted the relationships they’ve built and impact they’ve made.
“It’s the camaraderie I feel walking in the building every day,” Heather said. “It is very rewarding.”
“It’s a very home-like environment,” Elham added. “I love working with kids.”
BCCS extends its heartfelt gratitude to all employees celebrating milestones and appreciate the lasting difference they’ve made in the lives of students and their families.
