Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week

Three Barbara C. Wilson teachers celebrating Teacher Appreciation WeekTeacher Appreciation Week is a special time at BCCS for students, families, and staff to celebrate the talent and dedication of the teaching team.

“Through teachers’ creativity and skill, students are prepared to meet the world with confidence,” said Stanfort J. Perry, CEO. “While some days aren’t easy, BCCS teachers bring talent and exceptional kindness into the classroom, creating a positive and safe learning environment where students learn and achieve every day.”

All week long, teachers were recognized with heartfelt activities and treats. At the Children’s Education Center, each day began with “Friends”-themed goodies, inspired by the TV show many staff members love and a nod to the friendships built in the classroom. At Barbara C. Wilson, the Parents’ Association (PA) organized daily surprises, including a lunch with sandwiches and salads, and a donut truck from Doughology, serving up specialty donuts and coffee.

Four BCCS teachers celebrating Teacher Appreciation WeekAt Westbury-Post Avenue preschool, the leadership team went the extra mile to celebrate their “Out of This World” contributions with daily surprises. Throughout the week, teachers were celebrated with a cupcake bar, juice bar, a variety of moon pies, and an astronaut-themed snack station featuring milky way bars.

Round Hill Road team members were also celebrated for being stellar team members with an “Out of This World” theme. Administrators organized a cosmic coffee bar to help the team get energized for a full day of learning. The school’s PA also sponsored a luncheon for the team on May 6. The school’s PA does their best to show their appreciation for teachers year-round, and Teacher Appreciation Week provided them with another opportunity to do just that.

While Teacher Appreciation Week is a great opportunity to thank our teachers, we are grateful for them every day. Their talent, leadership, and professionalism make BCCS’ mission possible.
