Najoya Stewart-Leslie, a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the Children’s Residential Program (CRP) in Lido Beach, was recognized as an Employee of the Quarter on June 30 for her leadership and dedication to the young men she supports.
Joining fellow honorees from across the agency, Najoya was honored for consistently going above and beyond in her role.
“This recognition is very well deserved and earned,” said Stanfort J. Perry, CEO, to the honorees at the celebration. “Each day, you go above and beyond, not just meeting expectations, but raising the bar, and somehow you all make it look easy.”
Najoya has worked at the Lido Beach residence for three years. During that time, she has become known as a natural leader who proactively supports the young men at the CRP and her fellow staff members. She is always looking for new ways to offer a helping hand to team members, stepping in whenever needed without hesitation.
When DeAndre Barnes, Assistant Manager, joined the CRP, he said he learned a great deal simply by watching Najoya in action. He was struck by her thoughtful and warm approach, attention to detail, and commitment to keeping the residence organized and running smoothly. Among the many ways Najoya supports the young men is involving them in preparing meals, helping them build everyday skills and greater independence.
“It’s a pleasure to work with Najoya and the team,” DeAndre said. “There is great synchronicity between her and the staff every time I come to my shift.”
Her positive influence is felt even when she is not present. By leading through example, she helps create a positive work environment where the entire team succeeds together. It’s that leadership and dedication that makes Najoya a standout employee of the quarter.
